The Conrad Hotel is located in Washington, D.C.’s City Center DC, a 12-acre, mixed-use development constructed at the former site of the Washington Convention Center with views of the White House in the East End of downtown.
The 360-room luxury hotel and 30,000 ft² of ground-floor retail is situated in an area with 130-foot height restrictions and is designed by Herzog & de Meuron, led by five senior partners, including Pritzker Prize Laureates – Jaques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron.

This job was one of the most complex works our company has ever done, having over 500 different designed connections, giant girder beams and articulate hydraulic column jacking devices. A single girder splice counts almost 1500 bolts!
